Hey, I’m Najma.

A Birth and Postpartum Doula

Based in West London

Welcome Under the Stars 💫

It’s your first time, you’re expanding your family or your baby has already said hello to the world, how exciting either way!

It can be scary, euphoric, calm, moving and thrilling all at the same time.

You might be a Solo mum or have a birth partner and looking for Doula support. I am a recently certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, who can help ease your concerns, prepare you and walk with you through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

I want to be there for mothers and their families to help them feel empowered and supported.

If you have any questions or want to get to know me more, I'd love to connect

Ways I can help you through…

Birth

If you know what your options are, it makes your decisions much more informed.

I am here to support you with preparing for your dream birth. To provide you with information as to how we can work towards that and what other paths birth can take, so you know your choices and can be empowered in them.

Being informed on how your body changes during pregnancy and birth can help with knowing what you can expect during those times, which in turn helps you know what measures you can take and how to prepare postnatally. This creates a better space for you during birth and the fourth trimester, so it doesn't feel so overwhelming.

I would be providing support from the minute we start working together. My goal is to make sure your voice and choices are heard, and to walk with you through it.

Being there with you can help you feel cared and protected. I aim to enter your space with support, care and a shoulder to lean on or a hand to hold.

Postpartum

There are many ways I can support you during postpartum.

In my culture and many others, mothers and newborns are cared for and lifted up by the women in their family for 40 days. This is so you can get the best chance to recover from the amazing job you did giving birth, and to get the ‘hang’ of caring for a newborn as a new mum - or if you already have children, you won’t feel so overwhelmed when caring for your newborn and your other children.

Some of the things I can offer are providing you information on what newborn behaviours to expect, breastfeeding guidance, light household chores, caring for the baby whilst you get some rest, helping care for your other children and much more.

I enjoy cooking dinner for my family and want to extend this joy to you. I can cook you Somali comfort meals or a meal of your choice, as I know how comforting a home cooked meal is.

I also have additional services of providing hair care for yourself or your older children, this isn’t limited to postpartum. I know how much of a boost it is to have your hair done or know that there’s one less thing to tick off of your to do list.

  • A doula takes the role of nurturing you through pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester, making you feel supported and heard.

We aren’t in replacement of your birth partner or family, we are an added support to your journey.

We are here to reassure you, to provide you with information and care that can help making the right decision for you much easier - and for you to be prepared for the other paths birth could go, so that you are not left in the dark and rather empowered and informed.

We can also be there for you postnatally, to help with infant feeding, your recovery and to support you during the fourth trimester through personalised support.
